We at Aethernal believe that fashion is a game of roles, in which respect for the environment is the key.
Our clothes convey who we are and how we feel, wearing them every day show our
values and our passions. The perfect dress? The one capable of combining the ease that always leaves
space to performance and respect for the environment.
The high environmental impact of fast fashion is due both to production - always located and
in favour of an excessive use of harmful substances that cause a huge CO2 emission -
but also by consumer choices, such as disposable consumption of clothing. Sustainable fashion is the alternative designed to create and maintain a relationship of collaboration and mutual observance between human beings, their production and consumption processes and the nature that surrounds them. From conception to production, from distribution to sale, the
Our aim is to protect the environment through the use of materials with low pollution impact, the reduction of waste and the stimulation of conscious consumption.
Our mission is to convert the classic production with exaggerated surpluses that carry out a perpetual and harmful action towards the environment, in more ethical controlled and conscious productions.
Aethernal was born with the aim of making eco-sustainability one of the values
fundamental, preferring organic materials, often recycled and biodegradable, grown without the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, thus avoiding the devastating processes of deforestation. Organic tissues imply low energy consumption and natural resources but require significantly longer processing times, so be patient!
There is a time for everything. Today is the time to think about how it is made what I am wearing?
Where and how exactly have these garments been dyed? Today it’s time to wear something unique, unrepeatable and harmless. Aethernal chooses unique and not replicable ecological prints, because every leaf on this planet is different, even the two sides of that leaf are different and this makes everything
more interesting. Aethernal chooses natural dyes whose peculiarity lies in their way of changing over time.
Today it’s time to talk about Eco Print and Natural Dyeing!
The Eco Print is an ancient technique, completely natural, that allows you to transfer on the fabric colors and shapes of natural elements such as leaves, flowers, berries, barks, roots. It’s a permanent method of staining and customizing fabrics that sees chemicals replaced with natural acids and oxides, thus falling into the sustainable fashion process. You can
get the most amazing prints and colors just using natural elements that do not harm our planet in any way. This is the future: to eliminate chemical dyes and synthetic materials that are both toxic to us and harmful to the environment.
Natural dyeing is a very slow process, but it is precisely this wonderful characteristic that awakens creativity in us. Learn to slow down and take time to look around, observe what nature is doing and what it wants to communicate to us, try to listen and love, respect and protect. The result of this work that lasts for days is always surprising: think about shapes and colors at the beginning of the process and continue to imagine them until this is over is the most exciting aspect.
Let’s see together what are the fundamental steps.
The first phase is inspiration: we take a walk in our favorite places and let nature envelop us once again, so we go in search of the natural elements to which we want to give eternal life. Once collected these we pass to the choice of tissue of plant origin.
The next step is creativity:
we place the flowers, the leaves, the berries on the fabric to form the composition we have in mind. As soon as we create our composition we move on to the assembly phase: we wrap the fabric in a cylinder locking it with a cotton cord that will wrap everything as a gift
discard.
The next stage is suspension and curiosity: the moment of cooking in water is a moment of expectation created by waiting that converts time into a daydream, this is the moment we prefer!
The final stage is stupor and excitement: after the estimated cooking time, which will vary from plant to plant and material to material, we unroll the fabric and begin to gently remove our natural elements and discover the beautiful colors and the wonderful shapes that have given us. Once left to air dry it will be ready to be transformed into a unique and unrepeatable dress.
